Our innovative training program equips OKU trainees with real-world job skills. Through hands-on experience in our shop, located in Air Itam, they gain dignity, confidence, and a true sense of belonging.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a business approach where companies integrate social and environmental concerns into their operations and interact with stakeholders, aiming to contribute to society beyond just profit. It encompasses four main types: Environmental (reducing pollution), Ethical (fair practices), Philanthropic (charitable donations), and Economic (sustainable financial practices). Effective CSR builds trust, enhances brand reputation, attracts talent, and can lead to increased customer loyalty and long-term growth, although it requires upfront investment.
An extensive one year practical pilot study has proven that the LDS ‘Business Model’ functions extremely well.
The development of an idea into a fully functioning retail unit within twelve months. must be an indication of the dedication and skill of our unpaid volunteers.

Why LDS Requests Support
Having a family member with a learning difficulty can lead to two significant financial challenges for families.
First, the increasing cost of specialized care and support for the sibling places a continuous financial burden on the family's resources. These expenses often include therapy, medical appointments, and educational support.
Second, the family member with learning difficulties is frequently unable to work, resulting in no direct contribution to household expenses. This lack of income further strains the family’s financial stability.
At Learning Difficulty Support (LDS), we recognize these challenges and actively work to ease the burden on families. To support our trainees, we provide a moderate monthly allowance as a form of reward and encouragement.
However, sustaining this allowance is a considerable challenge. LDS relies entirely on the sales of donated items and occasional cash donations from the public to generate income.
Every purchase from our shop in Air Itam, Penang, and every donation helps us continue this vital support, empowering our trainees while aiding the families who need us most.
100% of the revenue from sales and cash donations is utilized to pay a modest overhead and reward our trainees.
