Dedicated Special
Needs Retail Training

LDS follows the UK charity shop model with a practical twist: our trainees work directly in the shop and earn a modest cash reward for their contributions.

We collect both cash and donated goods from the public and local businesses, selling items in our retail outlet and at market stalls in Hin Bus Depot.

Trainees are involved in managing stock, creating displays and engaging with customers. Income from sales and cash donations helps cover operating costs and funds a monthly allowance for trainees.

We deliberately use the term “trainees” to acknowledge people with learning difficulties as capable, equal members of the community. On-the-job training is ongoing, hands-on and tailored to build real workplace skills.
